Long before Canada came into being a nation, the Aboriginal peoples had their own cultures and ways of making collective decisions. Many of their practices still exist today, and some have had an influence on the Canadian Constitution.
-The government denied Indian nations the right to meet together in large assemblies to discuss common problems and devise solutions and ways of pressuring the government.
